Out With the Old, In With the New

Out With the Old, In With the New

Let us give thanks for lace chokers, sheer body con dresses, ripped jeans (that could easily be classified as see through stockings) and our favorite accessory of all: the thigh-high boot that can give every girl a little “uff” to her strut. It is inevitable that with the glams of fashion, there are some trends that receive more attention than others. When a woman wears these items, it is the sexy and confident portrayed that sparks that public’s interest. Concerns from the public, who wants to see not the bottom of our cheeks but the workings of our brain, about showing too much skin has caused misunderstanding of fashion-forward pieces.
Us fashionistas do not care what you think about what we wear. We are not here to please you, but to be true to our self-expression.  We are here to be women of fashion. We are here to be us because the world today craves diversity. We are here to embrace the frequent changes, leaving room for opportunities to grow and embrace self-love: to be whoever we want to be.
Women’s bodies and styles are constantly critiqued while men’s bodies and styles are glorified. What is the difference between showing a well-chiseled man’s abs and a toned woman’s cheeks? Times have changed my friends, and we must embrace the new norm. We are living in the era of “free the nipple” (and occasionally the tush too). Fellow beautiful beings, let us live a little!
The decades where long dresses were worn to cover the knee caps and layers of blouses were used to cover our, um, “most prized possessions” are long gone. And let’s be real; those repressions were never really wanted in the first place. We all must admit that the trends of today are quite ravishing.
So with forward-thinking and love to all, let us welcome all the beautiful, brave women who embrace sex appeal with class. Let us wear our short shorts and cut up t-shirts while proudly freeing our nips. Let us take pictures of things we aren’t supposed to. Let us highlight our bodies with glamorous garments and be the fly little angels that we are.
Next time someone asks why we “disobey” the rules of modesty, we will respond with, “We don’t care because we know who we are, where we’re going and most importantly, how to pinch nerves in the human body.”
Stay fab my glam babes.
Xoxo
